1. Information

The site is open from 1st March to the end of October (subject to weather and special events – please check with office before booking) for Touring Caravans and Motor Homes and is licensed for 50 caravans, 30 of which have hard standing.

Any problems etc. should be reported to the Hall Office on 01625 861221. Office hours are: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 12 noon to 4.30pm
Bookings are from 2.00pm on day of arrival and pitch must be vacated by 12 noon on day of departure. Guests wishing to stay on Sunday or Monday afternoons to view the house or gardens must remove their caravan & car to the main car park by 12 noon and vacate the car park no later than 4pm.

It may be possible by prior arrangement with the office to leave your caravan on the pitch after 12 noon, charged at half the daily rate, provided the pitch is not already pre-booked by another party.

2. The site offers the following facilities:

  • 10 amp or 16 amp electric hook-up points to each pitch (included in charge)
  • Facilities block with spacious shower cubicles, family friendly facilities and excellent disabled facilities (included in charge). The facilities also include a well fitted laundry with deep sinks, a large washing machine and drier (separate charges apply).
  • Elsan Disposal Point & separate waste water disposal point (suitable for Motor Homes)
  • Free entry to Gardens and Park 8.00am to 7.00pm. Access to the gardens and West Lawn may be restricted if an event is taking place.
  • Visitors – The office must be advised of any visiting family/friends (including vehicle registration). A visitor fee of £4.50 per vehicle is payable to the office and a visitor pass issued. On Open & Event days the relevant tariffs apply see website for further details www.capesthorne.com
  • Site pay phone, limited wifi and information point.
  • Lakeside Coffee Shop serving light refreshments, afternoon teas and confectionery on Sundays, Mondays and Bank Holidays when the Hall opens to the public.

3. Site Regulations

  • All Caravans Awnings/Motor Homes must be positioned (short end to fence) not less than 6 metres apart, i.e. 20 feet, where occupied in a separate family occupation. A minimum space of 3 metres, i.e. 10 feet is allowed for shared family occupation.
  • All Caravans must be UNHITCHED. Cars may be parked alongside caravans but in very wet ground conditions it may be necessary to park cars on the car park after unhitching. No commercial vehicles are permitted on the site (e.g. transit vans).
  • No tents or gazebos are permitted on site. One windbreak per van is allowed.
  • Breathable groundsheets to be used under any awning.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on the caravan site and can be exercised off-site in the adjoining parkland. If grazing livestock are present, dogs are to be kept on leads to avoid possible sheep worrying. Under no circumstances are dogs allowed in the Hall courtyard or gardens. Maximum 2 dogs per caravan/motorhome.
  • Visitors are expected to keep their pitch areas tidy and to deposit all rubbish, litter etc. in the recycling bins provided. Household waste to be deposited in sealed bags in the skip provided.
  • Washing must not be hung out at any time.
  • The maximum stay is two weeks or three weekends. All Bank Holiday weekends have a minimum stay of 3 nights.
  • The maximum length of time a caravan can remain unoccupied on the site is 5 days, i.e. Monday to Friday. Payment for storage is to be at half rate for the unoccupied period.
  • All bookings are to be made through the Hall Office, with payment made in advance by debit card or cheque at least 28 days prior to arrival. In the event of last minute bookings caravans arriving after 5pm must pay at the office before 11am the following day.
  • Cancellations made 7 or more days before the due date receive a full refund less a 25% handling charge. If a cancellation is made less than 7 days before the arrival date no refund will apply.
  • Visitors are responsible for the behaviour of their own party including any guests who may visit during their stay at Capesthorne. Visitors are expected to respect other site users particularly with regard to noise after 10pm and when using barbecues. Ball games are permitted on site in the recreational area.
  • No children under the age of 14 are to be left unaccompanied on the site or in the gardens.
  • No entry to fenced off areas on the caravan site or the grounds.

Anyone found to be contravening these regulations will be required to leave the site immediately. No refunds will be given in this event.

NB The Owners reserve the right to close the Caravan Site due to special events held within the Hall and Park. Visitors are requested to check in advance of booking, if this may apply to their proposed visit. Similarly, some weekends may involve music for wedding receptions held on the adjoining West Lawn and visitors may like to check whether this is likely to occur during their visit.

Electrics: All electric outlet points are individually served by a re-set trip and guests may reset these by opening the box and resetting the trip. All boxes must be relocked after resetting.
